ANSWERS

Straight answers.

What is hydrostatic body fat testing?

Hydrostatic body fat testing, or underwater weighing, is the immersion of the body in water to get the most precise measurement of body fat percentage. It is based on the Archimedes principle: bone, muscle and connective tissue, known as lean mass, sinks while body fat floats.

What can I expect during the hydrostatic test?

The test is done in a four-foot by eight-foot tank kept between 90 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Your height, weight and ankle are measured. You lie face down on the underwater scale and exhale at your own pace until you are submerged. The professional takes a reading, taps you on the shoulder and you come up. This is usually done three to five times.

What do I get after the hydrostatic test?

A custom 7-page report on the composition of your body. A Rawmana Fitness professional goes over the results with you and explains what they mean for you.

How much does testing cost?

A single hydrostatic body fat test is $75. An RMR test is $120 and a VO2 sub-max test is $140. Packages range from a body fat 2-pack at $140 to the Ultimate Fitness Package at $285. The VIP Annual Membership is $375 and includes up to 24 dunks in a one-year period.

Do I need an appointment for testing?

Yes. Fitness testing is done by appointment only. The studio cannot provide walk-in service.

Do you offer discounts?

Ask about the referral program and the military, first responder and student discounts.

What is RMR testing?

Resting Metabolic Rate is how many calories your body burns in a 24-hour period at rest. The test is as easy as breathing into a tube for fifteen minutes, and the result is used to calculate calorie zones for weight loss and maintenance.

What is VO2 sub-max testing?

VO2 sub-max testing measures the rate at which you consume oxygen during exercise. It provides overall cardiovascular fitness level, personal target heart-rate zones, calories burned in those zones, anaerobic threshold and how well your body recovers.

What is medical body composition analysis?

The medical Body Composition Analyzer (mBCA) by seca breaks weight into fat mass, fat-free mass, body water (extracellular and intracellular) and skeletal muscle mass. Measurements are processed by six analytical modules and take 17 seconds.

What is the 6-Week Challenge?

A six-week challenge with fun workouts for any level, a trainer three days per week, the world’s simplest meal plan and accountability that works. It is normally $499, and the studio is giving away 30 vouchers.
