TESTING — T-03
Resting metabolic rate (RMR)
The calories your body burns at rest — so your plan starts from your number.

WHAT IT IS
The work, in plain terms.
Your resting metabolic rate is the energy your body uses just to stay alive: breathing, circulation, temperature, cell repair. It is the floor under your daily calorie needs, and it is different for every person.
Most plans start from an equation. An RMR test starts from you. Once you know the number, your coach can set a calorie target that makes sense for your training instead of borrowing someone else's.
WHO IT IS FOR
- You have stalled and cannot tell whether the problem is food, training or time.
- You want a calorie target based on your measurement, not a formula.
- You are rebuilding and want to protect muscle while you lose fat.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Three steps, no mystery.
- 01
Call to book
Ask for an RMR test. We will give you the preparation instructions when you book.
- 02
The test
The measurement is taken at rest at the studio. Follow the preparation instructions closely.
- 03
The plan
Your coach uses the result to set a starting calorie target and a review point.

Estimated total daily burn
A light activity day at 180 lb. Your resting burn is the base; activity is added on top.
- Resting burn (BMR)
- 1,751
- Protein / day
- 126–180 g
Estimates only — ask a coach before setting a calorie target. This is not medical advice.
QUESTIONS
The useful answers.
How is RMR different from TDEE?
RMR is what you burn at rest. TDEE is your total daily energy use, including movement and training. RMR is the base; activity is added on top.
How should I prepare?
The studio will give you instructions when you book. Call if anything is unclear before your appointment.
Can I just use a calculator?
You can start with our metabolic rate calculator, which uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation. A measured RMR is your number rather than an estimate: use the calculator first, then confirm with the test.
